As the end of another year beckons, the time for the yearly declarations of what we will do in the next year, and who we will cut off as we enter the new year fast approaches. For this Urban Freeman, no doubt I will make the same declarations and also have a new list of people who are not needed as we enter a new year – albeit for me, this will be done privately rather than publicly. I do believe it is important to have a plan and have set goals for the year, but everything we do must have a purpose and ideally the purpose should be bigger than us, the purpose should be potent!
The purpose of this blog is to announce the launch of my YouTube channel Celeste Speaks which will go live by the grace of God on Christmas day 2014 with my first VLOG also featured.
Last year when the idea came to me that I should start making videos, I was challenged by someone who asked me plainly, “why?”.
Its funny in hindsight, but even more scary in reality how one word could sweep all the confidence from me and fill me with so much doubt.
Do you remember when you were at school, and you were sure of what you believed but as soon as the teacher asked you why, or challenged you, you began to stutter and ermm and ahh and ultimately you were left a confused mess bowing to your teachers superior wisdom – even though you were right and you knew it. (Knew being THE choice word as it is past tense – as in – you knew before you were challenged, then you didn’t know any more -_-)
In a nutshell, that’s what happened to me and probably it has happened to every person that will read this. and you are the only person who even reads my blogs so this applies to you. Yeah, you!
Listen, stop allowing others to define your truth. Do not allow yourself to be robbed of your own destiny because somebody couldn’t see your vision and challenged you. Don’t you know that the vision is made clear to the visioneer. There are only a select few people in your life who are able to see your vision as you see it before it manifests, and they may not be your parents or your partner or your children or your best friend!
The truth is what we don’t understand we reject.
Do not allow the misunderstanding by those who you care about, cause you to allow them to reject your vision on your behalf.
2015 is nearly here. It’s OK to make your New Year resolutions and talk about what 2015 has in store for you. But! How potent will your purpose be? Will you spend another year as the walking dead? or will you start to live?
Free yourself from the expectations of others and begin to live according your your own destiny.
